Create better marketing emails with this new AI feature in Dynamics 365 Marketing

Most marketers are all too familiar with hitting a creative roadblock—not quite being able to get the ball rolling when creating copy for a campaign, email blast, social media post, you name it. Luckily, Microsoft is constantly working to improve the Dynamics 365 suite of applications to be more intuitive and insightful to make every workday a breeze. Things like real-time customer journeys, recommended actions, SMS messaging, and using natural language to create targeted segments are exciting (and relatively new) features that can help you connect with customers in the ways that matter most. Now, AI has been harnessed in Dynamics 365 Marketing for a new, imaginative feature called Content ideas.

The key is to provide enhancements to the repetitive, mundane tasks that can quickly take up time day after day, and Content ideas is a feature that is user-forward – plus, it adds value to Dynamics 365 Marketing’s intuitive UX that users can rely on as a top-of-the-line marketing CRM solution.

In its essence, Content ideas simply generates custom text ideas that can be used in emails made in Dynamics 365 Marketing. But, its development goes a little deeper than that. Reliability, inclusivity, and transparency are three of Microsoft’s core beliefs when it comes to developing AI capabilities, and that much is evident when working with the AI-powered features in the suite of business applications. They pride themselves on creating AI features that add value to the everyday user experience and put forth human-centered research, development, and deployment practices to embrace diverse perspectives, continuous learning, and agile responsiveness as AI continues to evolve.

Here’s how to use Content ideas to quickly generate on-message content to create personalized customer experiences:

When you first launch the Content ideas feature, you must allow the feature to analyze your old marketing emails that have been created in Dynamics 365 Marketing. This will look for patterns in subject, language, tone, and content so the automated ideas are based things you’d actually say in an outbound marketing email. When you’d like to use the Content ideas feature, a text box will appear asking you to enter two and five “key points” to generate suggestions in line with the message of your email. The key points you enter should give the AI generator an idea of what you’re looking for in terms of content and tone – a bit like predictive text in a Word document or when creating an email in Outlook.

You can then add the generated ideas into the body of your email and review them with the rest of the email content. It’s a helpful engagement tool that can enable marketers to accomplish tasks more quickly, or at least start the creative process to easily develop savvy content and copy for marketing emails.
