Five signs that it's time to switch Dynamics GP providers
1. YOUR PARTNER DOESN'T COMMUNICATE WITH YOU.
How often do you have a sit down with your Dynamics GP provider to talk about what is happening with your business and how your system is working? If your partner isn’t connecting with you regularly, then they are not aware of how your business is growing and how Dynamics GP can help you manage and maintain that growth. Communication is key in any partnership. We understand this, which is why we hold monthly meet ups with each of our Dynamics GP clients. It’s important to us that we stay up to date on what is going on with you so that we can make sure you are getting the most out of your system.
2. YOU HAVE THIS NAGGING FEELING THAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON IMPORTANT DYNAMICS GP FUNCTIONALITY.
If you feel like you aren’t taking advantage of everything Dynamics GP has to offer, you probably aren’t taking advantage of everything Dynamics GP has to offer. An ERP system needs to evolve as your business evolves. A system that is stagnant because your provider isn’t making sure you are using it correctly is a system you can’t rely on.
How do you really know if you’re missing out on built-in GP features? Simple. Ask yourself, “What are we still using Excel for?” We ask our clients this question regularly. If you are still using Excel to produce financial reports, manage inventory, or to reconcile your accounts, then you are most certainly missing out on time-saving features.
When companies approach us to discuss migrating to the cloud, we conduct a thorough (and free) system review with you to make sure that every aspect of the system is being used they way you want it to be used. We provide suggestions on how you could be using the system more effectively. In a lot of ways, this goes back to partner-client communication. If your provider is not paying attention, then they can’t help you to improve your system.
If you want a Dynamics GP expert to look over your system, and give feedback we provide free one-on-one system reviews.
3. YOUR PARTNER CLAIMS THAT DYNAMICS GP ISN'T CLOUD-FRIENDLY.
This one is a huge red flag. Any provider that is reluctant to move clients to the cloud isn’t thinking about the long term value for you. If your Dynamics GP implementation is on-premise, you are spending extra money on physical hardware, backups, and the manpower necessary to watch over those servers. Migrating Dynamics GP to the cloud is not only cheaper, but is also more secure than maintaining Dynamics GP on-premise.
Simply put, if your provider won't let you move to the cloud then they likely do not have your company's interests at heart.
4. YOUR SYSTEM IS OUT-OF-DATE.
When is the last time you upgraded Dynamics GP? Upgrades for on-premise systems are costly, especially if you get behind on upgrades and need to make the jump over multiple versions. With Azure-hosted Dynamics GP through Syvantis, all upgrades are free.
Dynamics GP 2016 R1 is now publicly available with great new features and we are already preparing upgrades to keep our customers current.
5. YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ABOUT NEW FEATURES.
All it takes is one feature to simplify a process that has been taking up too much of your time. So how do you find out about it? You can do research on your own, but that sometimes slips through the cracks in your crazy schedule. Your provider should be on top of this.
We know how our clients are using their systems. This makes it easy for us to suggest new features and integrations that will make their lives easier.
Migrating your system is a big decision. We're always happy to talk you through how the process works and what we can do with your system. In the meantime, our pricing calculator can show you the cost benefit of migrating to the cloud.
