Timeline: Move from Outbound to Real-time
While every business will approach the move from Outbound to Real-time in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights—Journeys a little differently, we've compiled two example timelines to help you conceptualize what key tasks we recommend completing during each phase of either a gradual or rapid transition.
Extended 4-Month Timeline: Gradual Move
Our 4-month extended timeline is designed for a gradual shift from Outbound to Real-time. At this time, you'll likely be completing your normal marketing tasks while providing 1-2 individuals on your team part-time each week to make progress on the move. This timeline assumes you'll use both Outbound and Real-time in this timeframe—a hybrid approach that allows you to gradually ramp up your use of Real-time as you move things over.
Expedited 3-Week Timeline: Rapid Cutover
Our 3-week expedited timeline is designed for a rapid move into Real-time. In this timeline, you'll likely focus most of your marketing resources and personnel on the migration. Though this is a fast migration path, we suggest completing this timeline well before the June 30, 2025 cutover deadline. You don't want to run into any major issues (however unlikely that is) and risk losing anything that hasn't been completed. We don't assume Microsoft will be flexible with that cutover date. The timeline assumes that you'll be using Outbound up until week 2 of this timeline, after which you'll fully swap to Real-time.
