Everything included in the Dynamics GP 2021 update (GP 18.4)
Microsoft has recently announced the features that will be included in the October 2021 update to Dynamics GP, which will include the 2021 Feature release as well. Although it’s unlikely that GP will have any ground-breaking or particularly robust new functionalities added through the rest of its lifecycle, yearly updates will still come out in terms of hotfixes, tax code-compliant updates, and other regulatory fixes. The following features are all based on customer requests, so users can look forward to improvement to what they actually use. Another perk is that new registration keys are not needed for this release.
Users should note that only the 2018 version of GP will be updated – GP 2016 received its last-ever update in June 2021, so it’s in your best interest to upgrade to GP 18 for continued use. Check out this informational series from the Microsoft Dynamics GP blog for continued updates, straight from the source.

Things to keep in mind when planning for an upgrade:
To continue using GP in its extended lifecycle, users must opt-in to at least one of the yearly upgrades (aka — if you didn’t do the 2021 mid-year upgrade you MUST do this one).
It’s imperative to build time into the upgrade schedule for tests.
Users should ensure that there are working backups before applying any upgrade patch files to the system.
Ensure that modifications, extensions, and add-ins are correctly coded to upgrade as seamlessly as possible.
The upgrade process for an on-premise setup is quite different from the process if your system is on a cloud server, like Azure. We recommend a check-in with your partner if you are unsure.
